An intensive Spanish course, or a Spanish crash course, concentrates months of tuition into days or weeks. It suits anyone working towards a date: a relocation, an overseas posting, a wedding abroad, or a trip already booked. We have taught Spanish in London since 2009, and your tutor comes to your office or your home.
How an intensive Spanish course runs
The course is built around the time you have. A single day can cover the ground for one meeting or one trip. A week or more takes a complete beginner into everyday conversation, and a fortnight carries a confident speaker into professional register. Tell us the date you are working towards and we will set a length and a daily pattern to match it. Where there is more time, the same material runs weekly as private Spanish lessons.
Sessions run in blocks of two or three hours with breaks between them, giving new vocabulary time to settle before the next block. A day mixes structured grammar and listening with long stretches of conversation on the subjects you will be dealing with, and the balance shifts as the week goes on.
What an intensive course costs
Intensive Spanish courses start at £294 a day. Where your own figure falls depends on the length of the course, the daily pattern and where the sessions happen; weekends and early or late starts carry a higher rate. Tell us your date and the days you can give it, and the quote comes back the same working day.
The price covers the assessment, the course itself, all teaching materials, your tutor’s preparation between days, and the journey to you. There is nothing to enrol in and no textbook to buy. Private students pay in advance, by bank transfer, card, PayPal, cheque or cash. Where an employer is arranging the course, it is invoiced to the company and settled at the end of the month.
Your first session
The course opens with an assessment. Your tutor establishes where your Spanish is now, what you need to be able to do by your date, and sets a target the course length can realistically reach. You leave that first session knowing what the plan is and what each day is meant to achieve, rather than finding out as you go.
If you would like a sense of your level before booking, our Spanish test takes a few minutes.
Spanish for a move or an overseas posting
Relocations and secondments are the most common reason people book. The course covers the Spanish of arriving somewhere new, from housing and banking to the first weeks in a new office, alongside the vocabulary of your own work. Where a whole team is going, the same teaching runs as business Spanish at your offices.
All levels, with one tutor throughout
We teach A1 through to C2. Complete beginners start speaking on the first morning, and confident speakers use the days to sharpen accuracy, range and professional register.
The same tutor teaches every session, carrying Monday straight through into Tuesday. Your tutor is a native speaker and a specialist in teaching adults, and stays with you for the whole course. Castilian Spanish is our standard, and where your Spanish is for Mexico, Colombia or Argentina your tutor will teach you the vocabulary and pronunciation you will meet there.
Weekdays, weekends and early starts
Courses run Monday to Friday and at weekends, from 7am to 8pm, fitting into annual leave, a notice period, or the fortnight before a move. Days when you are travelling run as online Spanish lessons with the same tutor.
C. Strange, Teacher of Modern Languages, Girls’ Day School Trust, Bromley High School
I have just finished an intensive Spanish course with Lingua Clinic and would like to thank Antonio for his reliability, punctuality and above all his positive and dedicated approach to my linguistic needs. I felt that the materials used were very adequate and challenging, helping me to reach a higher level in the language. The conversations in debating films and current affairs were stimulating and sustained through Antonio’s clear and astute questions. I certainly enjoyed the experience and feel that it has brought me confidence and built a further awareness not only of the language but also of the Hispanic and Latin American cultures.
Moving or cancelling a course
Diaries move, and so do relocation dates. An intensive course is booked as a block, with your tutor’s days held for you, and carries a week’s notice. Tell us at least seven days before the course begins and we will move it to a new date, or cancel it, at no charge. Inside that week the course is charged, since the days have been set aside and cannot be filled at short notice.
Plan your intensive Spanish course
Tell us your date and your starting level, and we will set out a course length and a daily pattern. Call 020 7148 0320 or give us your dates on the contact page.
